eMachines recommends Windows Vista® Home Premium.

I do not see any programs appearing in the list of what was transferred.

Windows Easy Transfer only transfers program settings, not the programs themselves. To use the programs from your old computer, uninstall them from that computer, and then install them on your new computer. It is possible that some kinds of programs, such as security and antivirus programs, might not work with this version of Windows.
