How do I clear the events in the Event Logs?Note: Each log must be cleared individually.
- From the Windows Vista default Start menu, click Control Panel.

- In the System and Maintenance window, under Administrative Tools, click View event logs.

- In the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
- The Event Viewer opens.

- In the Event Viewer window, click Windows Logs.
- Under Windows Logs, click Application, and then from the Action menu, click Clear Log.
- In the Event Viewer dialog box, to save the Application log, click Save and Clear. Otherwise, click Clear.
Note: If the log is saved before clearing it, you are prompted for a saving location. The logs are saved with an *.evtx extension.
- Repeat this process for the Security, Setup, System, and Forwarded Events logs.
- After clearing all logs in the Event Viewer, from the File menu, click Exit.
- In the Administrative Tools dialog box, click the X on the top right corner to close the window.
