DirectX Diagnostic Tool

DirectX Diagnostic Tool helps you troubleshoot issues with the DirectX suite of multimedia technologies that come with Windows. If you are having trouble getting game animation or a movie to run properly, you should run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to try to find the source of the issue.

Use the following steps to open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool:

  1. From the Windows Vista default Start menu, in the Start Search box, type: dxdiag. Press the ENTER key.

  2. In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool dialog box, click Yes.

  3. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool window opens.

    On the graphic, click the hyperlinks for further information.
