Please download and install the eMachines Upgrade Assistant.
There are three major phases:

Phase 1: Before the upgrade (Windows 7)
Download BIOS and application updates required to complete the upgrade.

Phase 2: Do the upgrade
Upgrade the operating system.

Phase 3: After the upgrade (Windows 8)
Download any necessary application updates.
